Upland YMCA Child Molestation Case
Upland YMCA Teacher Faces Felony Child Molestation Charges

A day care teacher at the Scheu Family YMCA of Upland in San Bernardino County is facing charges of child molestation of a 4-year-old boy. Garrett Wayne Ammon, 30, was arraigned December 17 in West Valley Superior Court. He pleaded not guilty to two felony charges of committing a lewd act on a child under 14 years old.
Investigators served a search warrant on Ammon’s home last week and seized his computers. Ammon’s case is currently being investigated and the findings of the search of his home have not been released. Upland Police detectives are in the process of determining whether other children at the Scheu Family YMCA of Upland are victims of child molestation. During questioning, Ammon told police that he has been working in the child care industry at various businesses for the past nine years.
